The research and development team of STAREA comes from the Cosmetics Department of Beijing Technology and Business University. The Cosmetics Department of Beijing Technology and Business University has 21 faculty members, including 6 professors and 7 associate professors. 17 people with doctoral degrees. The Cosmetics Department will be the major supported by the Beijing Key Laboratory of Plant Resources Research and Development, the National Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Light Industry Aloe Products and the Cosmetics Research Center of Beijing Technology and Business University. The Cosmetics Department will focus on the application and development of biotechnology in cosmetics and health food. Nearly five years for "973", "863", national "11th five-year plan" science and technology support program, the national natural science funds, natural science foundation of Beijing, nearly 10 national/provincial scientific research projects, such as horizontal more than 30 research and development projects, in place for more than 3 million yuan, has published more than hundred, 6 monograph publications department, more than 20 national invention patents.

    The Cosmetics Department relies on the Beijing Key Laboratory of Plant Resources Research and Development of Beijing Technology and Business University to develop scientific research. Under the guidance of the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the department makes full use of high-tech biotechnology to research and develop plant resources, and develops green functional additives, functional cosmetics and functional healthy food. Isolation, purification and application of natural active ingredients from characteristic plant resources, with emphasis on cross scientific research of biology and cosmetics, including:

(1) Study on biological transformation technology of characteristic plants (Chinese herbal medicine);

(2) Study on applied biological technology in cosmetics efficacy and safety evaluation and study on biological mechanism of cosmetics and their additives on skin;

(3) Research on new cosmetic technologies such as skin delivery system and development of plant effective additives.
